Welcome to the Team Derby Badminton Club

Do you want to represent Team Derby on the national stage or play badminton at a recreational level? Team Derby Badminton offer competitive and recreational playing opportunities as well as the chance to socialise with friends, exercise and meet new people.

Team Derby has recruited three times Olympian Donna Kellogg as the new Head Badminton Coach, to encourage students of all abilities to enjoy playing the World’s fastest racket sport. Donna will be focusing on improving the University Badminton Team’s performance by leading regular sessions to improve their skills!

We are currently recruiting team players for the new season which commences September 2012. Male and female teams will be entered into the BUCS league 2012/2013. Team players are required to have previously represented their School/County or have the ability and commitment to train and play competitive sport. Additional opportunities are on offer including competitive games in the local Derby Badminton Association league and friendly matches versus other universities.

For beginners and recreational players there is an opportunity to enjoy this fast and exciting sport at the University Club Night. All nets, shuttles and rackets are provided.

For players that would like to represent the University Team, be part of our Performance Squad and be eligible to receive additional benefits such as Strength&Conditoning/physiotherapy and additional coaching please contact Coach Donna Kellogg d.kellogg@derby.ac.uk to find out more and trials opportunities.

Membership to the Athletic Union is required and there is an additional £5 annual fee to join the club. Each Session will cost £2.00

Club Sessions: Thursday 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Sunday 1 – 3pm
