Volunteer Community Coach
Steve went into local schools and delivered football sessions as part of the Team Derby in the Community scheme. This allowed him to develop his coaching skills and enhance his job prospects for when he completes his degree.
Our Team Derby in the Community project offers the opportunity for individuals to put their sports knowledge and expertise into practice, deploying them on volunteering placements as lead or assistant sports coaches within local schools and community clubs.
Volunteering activity undertaken through the Team Derby in the Community programme or as a Sports Activator is recognised by the University and can be included on an individuals’ Higher Education Achievement Record

WORK OR VOLUNTEER AS A SPORTS ACTIVATOR
Team Derby is looking to recruit a number of students to fulfil the role of Sports Activator to help with the coordination and delivery of either casual Pay as you Play sport sessions or our Intra Mural (social) sports league programme. Some of the positions are offered on a paid basis, others are volunteer roles. All will provide students with the following opportunities:-
We need Sports Activators to start in September 2012! Anyone can apply regardless of whether you are going into your last year of study or joining us in September. So if you are interested please complete and return an application form (see below).
