Success at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club annual Golf Day!

On Tuesday 6th June Derbyshire County Cricket Club held their annual Golf Day in association with Purpose Media! A Team Derby four-ball was part of the action – and came away with the winning trophy! Congratulations!

A great day was had by all – even though the weather did make things challenging, it was a great event, and it was a privilege to be involved!

More about Team Derby and DCCC

The University of Derby is one of the official sponsors of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club; and from that relationship comes a host of benefits for our Team Derby students.

Our Team Derby Cricket Club has the ability to be able to use the training facilities at the Cricket Ground, therefore giving them the opportunity to get experience playing and training in a professional environment.

On the 3rd of May Team Derby Cricket Club played their first match there, against Worcester. This also gave supporters the chance to go along to the match and see the game being played in the specialised venue.

Also as part of this relationship there is the Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with the University of Derby; which allow young players to have the opportunity to be identified by the Club from the age of 13. One of Derby’s success stories is Matt Critchley, who is an alumni student of The University of Derby and a Derbyshire Cricket Club Academy Graduate who is now signed by the club.
